Popular Ketnet series The girl in my diary (Hawa & Adam) sold internationally

Production on the second season of The girl in my diary (translation of the original title Hawa & Adam) is currently underway, with the new episodes set to air on Ketnet in 2027. The first season, which premiered on Ketnet in 2024 and won an Ensor Award for Best Youth Fiction, is meanwhile enjoying a strong international run. The girl in my diary is now available in no fewer than four countries: Norway, France, Canada and Germany.

The second season once again features a strong leading cast, including Ayana Doucouré, Jonathan Michiels, Charlotte Sieben, Margaux Cauliez, Wesley Ngoto and Kate Baeckelmans. Familiar faces such as Janne Desmet, Joris Hessels, Geert Van Rampelberg, Maya Albert and Ini Massez will also return.

Several new names join the cast of The girl in my diary: Jean Janssens, Wouter Hendrickx, Eva Kamanda, Greg Timmermans, Rob Van der Auwera, Ans Van den Eede and Paulien De Bock will all make appearances in the new season.

Hawa and Adam once again receive a book from the Mysterious Girl, this time bearing the message: “Save Kim. Save the world.” They soon understand why: in Adam’s timeline, Kim has disappeared. Where is Kim? And why must she be saved again? It marks the beginning of a gripping new adventure, where the answers lie buried in both the present and the past, and where Hawa and Adam come to know each other even better.

The girl in my diary 2 is produced by jonnydepony, based on an original idea by Tom Timmerman. The series is written by Zita Theunynck, Pieter De Graeve and Philippe De Schepper, and directed by Mathias Brouns. It is co-produced with Free Kings and will air on Ketnet in 2027.

Production house jonnydepony: “We’re very happy that The girl in my diary is finding its viewers internationally. The series tells a universal story about two teenagers finding themselves and each other while the odds are against them. They are navigating challenging times in their lives, but they are putting all their trust in each other to save the world. We believe teenagers worldwide can identify with their feelings in the series.” Lionel Marty, president and co-founder Magic Distribution: “With an incredible cast, The girl in my diary is one the most interesting live-action series for teenagers in the current marketplace.”
