Managing director & management

The Flemish Radio- and Television Network Organisation (VRT) is the public broadcasting network of the Flemish Community in Belgium (EU). VRT’s objective is to reach a maximum number of media users with a wide range of quality programmes that excite and satisfy the interest of the media users. The CEO, together with the Board of Directors, is responsible for the operational management of VRT. The managing directors execute the decisions of the Board of Directors. 

Board of directors

Twelve members of the Board of Directors are appointed by the Flemish Government. The Government takes into account the proportional representation of the political groups in the Flemish Parliament when selecting eight directors. In addition, another four independent directors are added to the Board.

From its members, the Board of Directors elects a chairperson and a vice-chairperson. 

The Board of Directors has three sub-committees: the Audit committee, the Strategic committee VAR and VAR subsidiary and the Remuneration- and recruitment committee.
