The Swell
The Swell tells the contemporary story of what happens when the national flood defences of The Netherlands and Belgium start to collapse. Five million people live on land below sea level. How will major cities and rural areas survive the disastrous consequences of flooding? Could people cope with rebuilding not just their individual lives, but their entire countries too?
We follow six of these people in a compelling and emotional narrative story. The Swell is about what life-threatening conditions do to relationships, about a national government under pressure and the resilience of a nation. The storm continues to have a hold on the characters once the tide has turned. How do you start over when everything has been destroyed?
