In former Yugoslavia, different nationalities lived together in a politically imposed peace. When countries started declaring their independence, war broke out: their suppressed differences were now at the root of a conflict. Neighbours became enemies.

In 2022 these contradictions and tensions are more present than ever. After 30 years, there is still no consensus about the‘truth’, people keep on living in the past and each ‘side’ has its own version of history.
